Through community outreach, the Colorado Chapter makes a
difference throughout Colorado.
Current and planned events
Shred-A-Thon May 14, 2011
Denver Metro Crime Stoppers, Shred-It and 9News to host
another Shred-A-Thon on Saturday, May 14, from 7 a.m. to noon.
The event is for residential recycling only. Businesses are
asked to make special arrangements with Shred-It. Citizens will
be allowed to bring three boxes (approximately 12 by 10 by 16
inches) of personal documents - bank statements, medical
records, old taxes, etc. There is no cost for this event, but
Crime Stoppers is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit, so donations will be
accepted. Crime Stoppers does not receive any local, state or
tax-based funding. All of the money is raised through
fundraising and personal and business donations.
COCFE members will be volunteering at this event, to be held
at the following 5 locations around the metro area:

Shred-It Event - 2011
(The Colorado
Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners was one
of the sponsors of the United States Postal Services' "SHRED IT"
event organized as part of the National Consumer Protection
Week, 2011).
