Consumer Fraud Unit

 

Alissa Hecht Gardenswartz is a Senior Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Section of the Colorado Attorney General’s Office.  Her responsibilities include general charity and nonprofit oversight as well as investigating and prosecuting violations of the Colorado Charitable Solicitations Act and the Colorado Consumer Protection Act.  She is also the President-Elect of the National Association of State Charity Officials. 

 

Prior to joining the Attorney General’s Office in January 2007, Alissa was in private practice in both Denver, CO and Washington, D.C., and she began her career as a staff attorney for the U.S. Federal Trade Commission in the Bureau of Competition.  She is a graduate of UCLA and the University of Chicago Law School.

Reservations required by four days in advance of meeting.  (For example, if the meeting is on Friday - you must RSVP by the previous Monday at 5:00pm)

Registration includes a buffet breakfast and complimentary parking (in covered lot, not surface lot).

 

* Due to hardships on space and food planning, late registrations and "walk-ins" will incur an additional $10 fee - so please register on time.  Thank you.

Reservation cancellations and NO-SHOWS

 

Cancellations must be received no later than 5:00pm two days before the meeting.  (Using the same example as above, you must cancel by the Wednesday prior to the Friday meeting)

 

If you are unable to attend the meeting - please feel free to substitute an associate or friend in your place.  If you are a member and they are not a member -  your guest will be charged the difference between the member and guest fee. 

 

NO SHOWS:  If you RSVP and don't attend the meeting - you will still be invoiced the meeting price.  We have to pay our caterers for all that RSVPd whether they attend or not.  Thanks for understanding. We shall waive this requirement only for verifiable emergency situations.

CPE Credit

 

ACFE awards a maximum of one (1) hour of CPE credit for attendance of breakfast training meetings. 

 

Seminars and other events may offer more CPE.  Please refer to specific information regarding meetings other than breakfast trainings for CPE credits.

 

Annual Training Seminar - October 2013

 

The Colorado Chapter of the ACFE holds an annual fall training seminar in October of each year.  This year's conference was held on October 3-4, 2012 at the Wellshire Inn and Event Center (Colorado Blvd just north of Hampden)
